About Me:

I am a real estate professional with a lifetime of personal, business, and civic experiences that attest to my commitment to the people of Spokane and the Inland Northwest. My work in real estate is Exceptional Homes Certified and I have earned the title of Certified Luxury Homes Specialist, but my qualifications to practice and excel in this profession are much more comprehensive and diverse. I have actively endeavored to collaborate with and support the people and institutions of our city for over 30 years, and the relationships I have cultivated rank amongst my most cherished achievements. In fact, I attribute my success in real estate sales to the very people I have worked with and for over the decades: my clients.

As an investment advisor in the 1980s to mid-1990s with Foster & Marshall and Shearson-Lehman Brothers I helped manage the private wealth of individuals who entrusted me with the responsibility to make the best decisions for their financial health. Beginning in the early 1990s, and well into the first decade of the new century, as a private developer and owner of some 400,000 sq ft of quality retail and office space in historically significant structures, it was my foremost goal to provide an exceptional hospitality / landlord-tenant experience. The restoration and renovation of a number of these properties also contributed significantly to the revitalization of our struggling downtown, particularly the development of Fugazzi restaurant, Cavallino lounge, and Hotel Lusso, which opened in 1998 and was honored as one of the 50 Best Hotels in America by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine in its 2008 Reader Poll. From 2002 to 2011 I continued to develop trusted relationships as the Executive Director of the Whitworth Foundation, an organization that manages the unique gifts and often complex assets of philanthropic donors to Whitworth University, before transitioning into my current role with John L Scott Real Estate.

Throughout these endeavors I have also been intimately involved as a volunteer with a number of local organizations, including the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture (board member), the Inland Northwest Community Foundation (board member, Chair of Investment Committee, Planned Giving Committee), the Spokane Symphony (board member and Treasurer), and the Rypien Foundation (board member).

The zenith of my accomplishments, however, is my family, including 33 years of marriage to my wife, Mary, and three sons, all of whom are pursuing their own passions.

Mine is collaborating with people to realize their property dreams. I do this with an unwavering work ethic, impeccable attention to detail, integrity, honesty, and with your best interests in mind. I understand that selling or purchasing a home is a great undertaking and that a positive experience with your real estate broker is essential to making it a memorable and enjoyable moment in your life.
